• Melbourne Saturday 17 July, 2010– STAGE ONE PAEDIATRICS, venue TBA (will be a hotel near Flinders Street).

This course is for non cranial osteopaths – anyone that wants to do some paediatrics, but doesn’t want to do cranial, or who finds it awkward in practice would benefit from this course. It gives a ‘functional’ approach to treating babies, and would also suit ‘structural osteopaths’ or ‘newer grads’ who haven’t developed their cranial palpation yet.So, if you would like another technique approach to babies, this is the course for you.

9am – 5pm - introduces a mecahnical / functional and gentle structural approach to examination and treatment of babies and children.  Covers development of bones and head in a simple way which is oriented to the techniques that we will be using.  How to hold babies, whereto start feeling them, and how to approach the osteopathic exploration of various common presentations such as colic, sucling and feeding issues and being unsettled crying and having torticolis / altered head shape are all introduced.

The full day course is recommended as a pre-requisite for the stage two course on the sunday (see separate course link).
